Beyond Bruges Edukit

Hello teacher
Legends Tours designed the Beyond Bruges Edukit, which uses the rich history of Bruges as a mirror to reflect on today's society. The aim of the Edukit is to encourage students to consider contemporary social issues that have their origins in the past and to use artificial intelligence as a tool to find future-oriented solutions to these complex issues.
The Beyond Bruges Edukit is a three-part lesson series and includes a pocket-sized workbook, an innovative app and a board game. It involves researching the reliability of stories, a virtual and/or real excursion to Bruges, and an engaging workshop in which the acquired knowledge is translated into research questions that students can submit to artificial intelligence in order to help shape the world of tomorrow. Bruges
In the first lesson, we explore the origin story of Bruges and delve deeper into the distinction between truth and fiction. We consider the power of stories and how they influence reality as a reflection on the role of social media and disinformation in today's society.
Ghent
During the second lesson, we take a trip to Bruges to discover its fascinating past as a commercial powerhouse and cradle of early capitalism. The students fill in the handy booklet full of interesting questions and facts about the history of Bruges as they make their way through the city centre, either virtually or in real life.
Antwerp
For the excursion to Bruges, students use our app Beyond Bruges, which allows them to retrieve information about every landmark and go back in time to discover the city during its glory days in the Middle Ages. This provides an innovative learning experience that students can enjoy from anywhere, whether in the classroom, at home or in Bruges.
Brussels
During the third lesson, students play a board game where they learn how to recognise the patterns that took place in our history and discover how those patterns manifest themselves again today. Students then formulate research questions about these themes and use AI to investigate how we can shape the future if we want to set a new course.

Transform learning with our Beyond Bruges Edukit.
